Legendary instrument maker and bluegrass musician Homer Ledford died December 11 in Winchester, Kentucky. Though he built close to 6,000 dulcimers, Ledford also made hundreds of mandolins, a few dozen guitars and banjos, and four violins. As a musician, he’d played with the band Cabin Creek since 1976. He was 79.
