Jumpin’ Jimmy Brown died December 18 in Maple Grove, Minnesota. He played trumpet and saxophone and sang with Etta James, Count Basie, and Nat King Cole. Best known for his tenure with Paul Williams & His Hucklebuckers, he also worked in the pit orchestra at the Apollo Theater, and for Debbie Reynolds. For a time, he was married to Ruth Brown. He was 80.
